it is well known that diabetes patients are more vulnerable to infection.can anybody let me understand how is it happen? thanks in advance!!

In a diabetic patient, what happens if he takes alcohol?

While surfing through the net, i found two debatable articles, which according  to Webmed,   drinking alcohol in people with diabetes can cause your blood sugar to rise, and according to American Diabetes Association Alcohol can cause hypoglycemia shortly after drinking and for 8-12 hours after drinking.

so which one is the correct one?
