New research form the johns Hopkins hospital school of medicine, Baltimore Suggest that cessation of smoking may increase the risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus for the short term, but as ex-smoker log more years without smoking, and risk gradually decreases to that of never smoker.According to this research weight gain may be the main cause of increases the risk factor for type 2 DM.One of the lead author said that these finding shouldn’t be used as an excuse to keep smoking.Dont even start to smoke, she added.She also said that if you smoke, stop smoking. That is the right thing but watch you weight.This research suggests doctor and health related practitioner helping smoker to quit should watch their weight, especially who smoked heavy.
